Tom Waits is an enigma, and something entirely unique. His expansive discography starts and ends in very, very different places. Orphans, his 2006 box set that includes Brawlers (blues, boogie, rock), Bawlers(ballards, waltzes, and slow soulful tunes) and Bastards (bat shit crazy, experimental, spoken word) is the perfect summary of his career. Coming in at 6LPs, we’re going to need the full 3 hours to get through this one!
